About us

We are Christians who proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord. We take the Word of God as our final authority. We aim to teach it every week and obey it fully in our lives and in our church.

We are simply Christians and don’t take any name apart from Christ’s, so we don’t belong to a particular denomination.

FAQs

Who is in charge?

Jesus is Lord which means we are directly accountable to Him in all that we do. The Bible teaches that each church should have elders responsible to ensure our obedience to the Lord Jesus as head of His church.

Why do you do ____?

Everything we do is based on the teaching of the New Testament handed down by Jesus to His apostles for all churches to follow. The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. This includes many commands on how a church should function so we seek to conform all our practices to its instruction. By submitting to the Bible we submit to Jesus as Lord; He stands behind it’s inspiration and compilation.

Statement of Faith

GOD AND HIS WORD

  • The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God's infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.

  • We believe there is one true God, eternally existing in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit–each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity.

  • We believe in the full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God; his virgin birth and his real and sinless humanity; his death on the cross, his bodily resurrection and his present reign in heaven where he presides as head over the church and ministers as high priest for his people, and his future coming again to reign on earth.

  • We believe in the universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering the human race subject to God’s wrath and con￾demnation.

  • We believe in redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death once and for all time of our representative and substitute Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and the human race.

  • We believe in justification as God’s act of undeserved mercy in which the sinner is accounted righteous before God solely on the ground of the merits of Christ, this justification being received by faith alone.

  • We believe in the necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death of Christ effective to the individual sinner, and by His indwelling producing increasingly in believers Christ-like character and behaviour.

  • We believe in the future personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ who will judge every human being, executing God’s just condemnation on the impenitent and receiving the redeemed to eternal glory.

THE CHURCH

  • We believe that each local church is autonomous in government and has as its model the New Testament practice of plurality in leadership.

  • We believe in the frequent celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and that participation should be open to all who genuinely love and follow Je￾sus Christ.

  • We believe every Christian should be baptised by immersion following personal faith in Christ.
